I finally got decent pics of My Yanmar up and resized. I'm really embarassed
that I don't know My own tractor :fing20: I've told everone and I do mean everyone I talk to about tractors it's a 1610D :hide: not realizing until today
when takeing pics that it was a 1601D. :banghead3 I have just always heard about the 1610D & never the 1601D. Even the Guy I bought it from keept refering to it as a 1610 and I guess it stuck, plus I've only logged 11hrs.
Mark777 I know there's only 2hp difference between the two, Is there
any other big significance I should know about? It's a great Lil' Tractor
with all the HP I'll ever need (Not that I'll ever want) but that's a whole nuther story. ROF
If you have any coments on the 1601D,How do you like them? as your opinion is highly regarded I'd like to here all your thoughts! on them.
:not_worth
Had to change my Sig.also :hide:

Mike

Both tractors are the same length, width, height with 16 PTO HP and 20 engine HP - there is no difference in engines or horse power. In fact they are identical in every respect except the "10" has shuttle shift. Every part on both tractors is interchangeable....except transmissions. It was (and is) an option offered for personal choice. And Many prefer a geared high range over the high range shuttle shift.

Either way, they are both very good, powerful tractors.

I really like the power shift on my Yanmar. Helps in some situations where one would like to have a 2-stage clutch.

My understanding is the power shift is a planatary gearset not unlike with a car's AT but doesn't have a fluid coupling or auto shifting. Maybe a closer relation is a 3-speed version of a model T trans.

Man I really like your Blue & Red color Scheme Much better then the Green and Red, but that doesn't effect the way they run- Grrrrrreat! :bannana:
I'm Sure I can find a tank and Make a bracket-But I'll Check with Hoye's
on their Prices first- ya! I'm a cheap SOB but not that cheap. ROF

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would hurt anything or be dangerous to put a 1/2" steel plate between ROPs and were its mounted,I need the 1/2" space so the seat will set all the way back and still sit down on its springs. Right now it the seat is against ROPs and not sitting flat. :tsk:

It sounds as though you are trying to increase the height of your ROP'S to provide side clearance for the seat...right? You have to be very careful and consider all the possibilities of side, roll over and end over accidents...and any alterations that can weaken the structure. I'd have to be there or see a picture for an honest opinion.

Hello! Mark777
I sent you a ? in an email earlier today but i think you said you were having
computor trouble on TBN so I'll post it here and you or some one else maybe able to help me out? :00000060:

Does the T-stat sending unit on water pump go to "dummy light" or to
the temp gauge in dash. You see nither work and my tractor overheated the other day. Bad rad.cap- but luckily I was idleing and shut down right away. I did order a new cap, sending unit and an overflow bottle(had None) from Hoye. after reading alot more post since then I'm not sure if sender is bad but I'm purty sure the gauge is,you'll see the neddle in pic never moves from .25 below "C". Even with parts I ordered I don't know if light or gauge will work then. IT was working last month, and I didn't know about an overflow Bottle till I talked to Mark777.So if any ones has a copy of a wiring diagram I'm sure I could fix it and I sure would be grateful! I know I could have bought a manual from Hoye but after the New GT & impliments I really couldn't afford it Plus I didn't know this was fixin to happen :fing20:
Here's a pic of my gauges and my cooling system if it'll help!

Thanks All

Mike,

I will email you a wiring diagram that's for a larger Yanmar but should work just fine. A simple test by pulling and grounding the water temp wire to the block...turn key on and lamp and or gauge needle should react.

Thanks Mark777
I did get yor email and will do the ground test. If the light glows but the gauge doesn't react does that mean gauge is bad? or maybe just not wired in? I'll let Y'all know.

Have you checked your fuses? I'm not saying gauges don't go bad, but it's usually the sender or fuse.

Hey! Mark777
The temp Gauge is good, idiot light is out or not hooked up (who cares) Huh! You were right all along sending unit is bad,Did your ground test and gauge neddle popped right up. :bannana: :thanku:
Now just waiting for overflow-bottle and sender, then Ill be tractoring again :woohoo1:

I think the light you're looking at is actually a billet plug in the dash panel (no light). I have had models like that.

Glad you traced the problem and you'll be tractoring again soon.
