I have a Caterpillar grader. The brass tag reads "Auto Patrol 9F 605."

It has a crank start gas engine. I believe it was made in the early 1930's

I've owned this grader for about 30 years. I used it up until about 15 years ago. I parked it because both intake and exhaust manifolds rotted out.

It is a really interesting machine. The blade lifts, pivots and tilts just like the hydraulic units but this machine is completely mechanical. It also has a scarifier.

Can anyone direct me to where I could find more info?

Dutch-NJ..If you have a model/ser. number, I might be able to get some info---My son works for the largest Cat dealer in three states, and they have a lot of old, old info still.....

Just let me know... :fing32:

Glenn: Any info I can get would be great.

There are only two plates on this machine that I can find.

One is just a generic Caterpillar Corporate plate with patent numbers.

The second plate states, "Auto Patrol 9F 605."

I think the model is an "Auto Patrol 9F," and the serial number "605."

I found a photo on the web that looks like mine. The address is: http://1934caterpillar.tripod.com/

Mine looks like this except it’s rust instead of paint, and without the “V” plow.

Mine needs intake and exhaust manifolds. If push comes to shove, I could make them from steel tubing. I be shocked to learn Cat still has any, but maybe your son knows of a salvage yard I could check with.

Thanks for your response.
