I bought this 4ft. Hog today. it looks like new. Im not sure of this BUT , I was told they sell new for around $1,200.00 . I give $650.00 fo this one . It has the better rear wheel and slip clutch on it.
Is this a fair deal or not . You won`t hurt my feelings, say what you think.

If you like it and have use for it..... it's a good deal. How you feel is the only thing that's important.

I would have paid at least that much. I learned a long time ago that, within reason, the cost of things I buy is secondary to using and enjoying them.

DR,

The MSRP on that mower is $1322 the way you have it set up there. I'd say that is a pretty darn good buy!

Doc you got a good deal on that. I paid $925 for mine new.

You might want to get the debris guard for the back like on mine:

I forgot to note that my LX-4 has shear bolt instead of a slip clutch. I think the slip clutch was $80 more, so that would have put me at 1G or better.

The last JD 4' I bought was $500 a few years ago but it was the lighter duty model so you did fine.

Gave $850 for a new LX 4 with shear bolt and no chain guard in back. You did fine :fing32:

Mine came with the chain guard. Not sure how much extra it costs.

Mine has a chain guard on the front but not on the back. why does it need one on the rear ?
also it already has a slip clutch
I`m gonna build a safe guard to mount to the back side of the roll bar , mounting with U-bolts. They say if I was to drill into the roll bar it would kill the warrenty on the bar.
I looked at a King kutter 4 Ft. tiller today $1,100.00 , JD dealer wants $1,800.00. I`m thinking that my dealer is a little to high fo some things.
They also have a used 2210 ,1994 . with FEL . $11,000.00!!!!!!!
almost as high as my new one. WoW !!
maybe a used tiller will show up.

Dr.! good buy on mower! King Kutter tiller we got last year was $1,195. for the 72" (6foot) jobbie we got from TSC. Know equipment is higher now but shop around a little! thanks: sonny

I think it just gives more all around protection, Doc. Especially to those who might be close to the tractor. The safe guard sound like a good idea. Some half inch zip ties looped through holes in the safe guard should secure it to the roll bar.
