Time will tell.

Travel home was 22 hours with 16 hours in the air (6 time zones). My wife picks me up at the airport and tells me on the way home that it might rain and it would be a good idea to mow a little when we get home. Got to love a girl like that!

Time was 19:30 and I'm on it like a bum on a bologna sandwich when I realized that I was mowing in one of my many tried and true old patterns that WAS NOT STRIPPING friendly..... That is the main new trick this old dog has to learn! Kind of like driving in Japan for a month and suddenly EVERYBODY IS IN YOUR LANE.

I really like the Prestige, I try not to love OPE, really. Everything works great. Power steering is, well the most appreciated upgrade that I have noticed so far, the traction control being a close second. One mowing and I see myself wondering why I kept the Sabre so long! It's for sale.

Cathy emailed me with her tale of "oops I crashed into the Sabre in the garage". No damage to either but at least I will not have the pleasure of being the first to pop the Prestige's cherry. Big peddle forward, little peddle reverse.

I don't see the point in posting a virgin's stripping pictures, but the stripes are there and I hope to be able to not turn into a stripe junky.

I can see that it is probably a lot easier to get uniform straight stripes on a smaller yard. I never considered 4 acres of mowing a large yard until now as I try to mow "stripe straight" over contours. What a chore. You have to keep your mind clear of impure thoughts.

Our yard is basically three large sections around a really big farm pond. I will have to work on stripping patterns that radiate from the house. Funny how the stripes become more apparent as the earth revolves around the sun. There is no mowing pattern that I can see that will display stripes uniformly over these three areas, like at the same time. Maybe a shot taken from the moon.

I think now that Stonehenge had something to do with laying out lawn stripes and not the seasons or the phases of the moon. The Druids peeled off their clothes and simply celebrated a well stripped lawn. Nothing to do with Spring.

At least I got a chance to mow, somebody lost something in the water off the Bahamas and I leave on Monday.

I used to mow a 3 acre square field for a customer that used it as a dog exercize area. There was only one tree in the whole field. I mowed stripes up & down, left to right, corner to corner, and opposite corner to corner. The customer had never seen the lawn mowed diagonally before and commented on how nice it looked. What I wanted to do, and never had the nerve to try was cut an "X" to find the center, and then spiral out in a constant right turn. I think it would have looked really cool, but was afraid the customer (who was very conservative) might not like it.

simple_john,

Nice stripes on a nice yard. I tried the somewhat wavy lines on one section. Have not bought the book, yet. It's fun trying my own thing. Not much planning, just wing it.

You have an advantage having a high place to take pictures. Might have to climb a tree. If I get it the way I want it, might do a flyover and take some pictures.
