Today was my first mow of the season, can you believe it We have had a warm winter here in Washington State and everything is already growing!

My Toro had not been used since last October, and this was my first major cold start with my Toro. I pushed the primer 3 times and went to pull the rope.

As I was pulling the rope, the engine felt like it was not getting any gas and the blade felt like it was lightly scraping against something. This is due to the long period that the Toro had been dormant. I pushed the primer 3 more times and pulled the rope.

This time the engine started with a bit of smoke and then stopped. So I went and pushed the primer 3 more times and pulled the rope. It started again and now she is going but she is not sounding too good yet.

I let the engine run for 10 minutes and when I went back outside to check on my mower, it sounded like the day I bought it! I mowed with it and it was just as great as it always was before the winter months, mowed awesome and gave me no troubles at all!

I wish other companies could make mowers this good!

Termy did you use sta-bil or any other brand of gas stabilizer when you put it up. Or did you run the tank dry or left it with last years gas? Reason i ask is it kind of sounds like your carb might have been a little gummed up.

It has been some time but ,I got a chance to look at one close up ,and was not impressed with the quality compared with my 20039 ,looks like they cut the deck, it lacks depth, the bagger looks like a cheap yard man set up. so I'm happy that i snaged the mower that I have now 20039 because they don't make em' like this any more.I hope they go back to the older design!

UPDATE!!!

Here we are 2 years later after the purchase date and this is what I have got to say...

I have to say I am really impressed with this machine, my research really paid off well when choosing this mower. All I have done to maintane this machine is change the oil twice, clean the air filter twice, replace the sparkplug once. I have kept the machine clean in general. The locktight I put on the wingnuts long ago is still holding well and have no issues with the handle bar at all.

The wheels are still in great shape and still have great tred on them and I have greased the bearings twice. This is still the best multching mower I have ever bought or used and would still reccomend this mower to anybody who is serious about wanting a machine that will last them 10 to 20 years.

Nothing has broken on this machine and as far as I can tell, there is no wear and tear on this mower at all minus the paint that has chipped off under the deck. I really love that personal pace driving system, go out there and buy yourself a Toro!
