It's probably for the best you'll never be able to change the belt on the mower deck with those.

Wow, that looks like it would hurt. What is a littermaid? It sounds like one of those automatic cat litter boxes that plows through the litter looking for gifts the cat left behind. I heard one go off at a friends house one time and it sounded like the motor was a little undersized for the job. It certainly could have been a different brand.

:omg: thank gawd this stupid thing didn't do that to me! (I'm having a hell of a time tryin to type now with a missing fingernail!) ROF

Yep, it's a Littermaid. I had unplugged an extension cord 3 days ago. Completely forgot until last night that the Littermaid was plugged into that extension cord. So it didn't clean for 2 days. It was horrid (We have 4 cats) and it's kept in our bedroom closet because otherwise the puppy tries to go after the kitty nuggets :eck16: so I attempted to clean it last night at 2am. It kept getting stuck I finally said f*ck it and turned it off and went to bed. My nose was burning because of the ammonia smell and I just couldn't stand the thought of that thing being anywhere near my bedroom anymore.

So today it got taken apart and cleaned out and I found a new home for it where the puppy still can't get to it. Some of the sensors got wet while I was cleaning it so it didn't wanna work. I think between me and OBF, we spent about an hour or so trying to figure this thing out. Finally got it and the kitties (and my nose) are happy to have their litter box back..

It was done to a female woodworker who got her fingers caught in a router.

Never could figger out them female long nails... Long nails equals weak fingers and plenty of discretionary income. When wifey had 'em it was always, "Here, open/loosen/fix this!" She sorta prided herself on how many things her nails could get her out of... They all look like pistachio nut shells to me no matter what's on 'em. Gimme a pig grabbin', pin feather pullin', cannin' jar top spinnin' short nailed country girl anytime... Just as much fun in the hayloft and they won't snag the hair on yer back! :bannana:

Sorry for the loss of your nail, but I can't let mine get any longer than your short one as they would just get ripped or snagged or ground off with the tools I use. So exactly how do you clean old axle grease out from under those?

I try not to let grease get near them.. I have to maintain a look! LOL

Well, whoda thunk a couple weeks ago we'd have threads about broken nails on this forum! :fing20:
Kurt, the Littermaid is one of mankinds great inventions. When they work! And you're right-ours sure seems to bog down when it rakes the litter. I've been considering opening the hood and seeing what I could do to hop ours up a bit.
