I recently bought a Kubota L2550DT (four wheel drive). The manual says it should have 11.2-24 rear tires, but the ones on it are 12.4-24. Are these tires just wider or are they higher than the 11.2, and will it hurt the front gears. The front are 7-16, and are what the manual calls for. Thanks, NorminN.B. :fing20:

The L2550DT came standard with either 11.2-24 or 12.4-24 rear tires and the 7-16 was used with both.

Thanks, Mark. I wasn't aware of that. Was there any other options for that model. I know the 2850 had the 12.4 rear tires. Was there also a heavier front gearcase as mine in stamped with 2850. Is ther anyplace online I can get more info on the L2550DT. Tried Kubota site, not much on there. Thanks, NorminN.B. :trink39:

I don't know of any on line info for Kubota. I got the info from our parts lookup. In reguards to the front axle they are common among many L series and no choice of options for size of axle. Some had heavy or light loader options and different transmissions but other than that it would be just dealer installed options such as remote valves top and tilt kits and such.

NorminN.B., tire sizes only really matters if you plan on a lot of hard ground running in 4wd which could then create binding. Stay with the recommended sizes on hard surfaces imo. :rauch10:
