My grandfather used to work for the county or township back in the 1930's (I think) and he was walking behind some type of horse drawn grader, kicking the large clumps of dirt that it left on the edge of the road. As he kicked one of them, something shiny caught his eye. He picked up the clump of dirt and broke it open and out fell a pocket watch. It was gold plated. He took it to a jewler and had it cleaned and it ran. He used this watch for several years, and in his last days, he gave it to my father.

Reading your post, my grandfather and his pocket watch was the first thing I thought of. :fing32:

We had something very much like that wile growing up. My step dad had a junk yard back in the 50's and when I showed up, it was closed, but still had a ton of old cars laying around. Way in the back 40 there was something just like that. I used to play on it all the time. We are going WAYYY back, but it may not have been that old though. I almost though it had rubber tires.[or what was left of them] I was not powerd though, it was something that got towed.
