I was at a farm sale a few weeks ago and I bought a wire winder for $1. It is belt driven and hte man said his neighbor had it on the back of his "Old Ford". He said that he had never used it since he got it. Anyone ever seen one? I'll post a pic or two a bit later. Thanks!

I've seen plenty of wire winders but not belt-driven. But I suppose back then they did drive everything with belts.

$1?! Wow, I need to find deals like that. Even if I can't use it or don't know what it is, I'd buy it for a dollar.

I guess it's for reeling up field fencing/barbed wire.

CatDaddy is correct, it's for winding up fenceline. We borrowed one from a neighbor for our 9N when we lived in North Dakota when we got rid of our barbed wire fencing. (Arabian horses and barbed wire is not a good combination.)

Yup! I have the PTO kind as well, but couldn't resist this one when I saw it! No one else was gonna bid, so I figured I'd find SOME use for it for $1. I'll see if I can figure out how it operates and maybe use it this Spring!

Well, after looking at some of your other posts, I have no doubt you'll find something to use it for! And I definitely want to see what you end up doing!
