9. Lawn class must be completely stock with muffler and PTO mower clutch, no mower deck, R.P.M. 3600.

I'd say yes you can...

I'd say yes you can try and if you are just looking for the experience and to have fun, it should be a good day for you. But because of the way the weight classes are set, you could be competing against larger more powerful machines:

LAWN CLASSES
Class 1 TIRES R.P.M.
0-12 H.P. 0-950 lbs. 1050-12 Turf or Ag 3600
Class 2
0-20 H.P. 0-1050 lbs. 1050-12 Turf or Ag 3600
Class 3
0-20 H.P. 0-1000 lbs. 1050-12 Turf or Ag 4000
Class 4
0-20 H.P. 0-1100 lbs. 1050-12 Turf or Ag 4000

it would be fun but if your using it to cut and work i would advise against it. alot of those guy's have a spare tractor just to pull with. it puts alot of wear and tear on parts.
just my .02

Well, See I'm in kinda of a bind because this tractor does not have a cast iron front axle. But i all ready reinfored that. :fing32: But know what if I blow a rear. that cost money. What about a kill switch. What kind tires do you think I should use. What would be the best do you think. Any other info I need to know please let me know. :not_worth Do you think ill have enough Horsepower 14.5. How much do you think to invest this.

If that's your only machine I would not do it...That Craftsman is a good lawnmower but's not designed for anywhere near the level of stress your getting ready to subject it to...You could easily blow your light weight tranny and be out 25% of the original purchase price of the tractor...My advice would be to buy a good used tractor and fix it up for pulling.

:ditto:

Too hard on it, and while fun, just not worth the expense...

You could always do this....with enough time and money, of course :trink39:

I wuld think you would be worlds ahead to throw down a little cash, and pick up an older GT of some kind. A old Cub would be perfect, but lots of other old school GT's would be good. Looks like a LOT of fun, and I am thinking of doing the same one of these days.

Old shaft drive Cubs are worth their weight in gold to the pulling guys around here...They seem to be the weapon of choice! ROF
