I have help for you in locating where your serial number is stamped on the chassis. Most are stamped on the top of the transmission housing.

This is how it looks on a 81,20, 22, 21 (colt) and 23 (mustang)
On models with a PTO the oval plate will have a switch lever.

Here is where it is at on the 101r's, 101 Seniors and 101 Juniors. sitting on the seat it is just to the left of the PTO lever.

This is where it is on the 30, 33, 44, 333, and 444 Sitting on the seat it is just to the left of the PTO input lever. On the 333 and 444 sheet metal may have to be moved. My 44 br# b is for butane r is for rowcrop.

I just bought a 1946 Massey Harris (thats the year the person I got it from said). The serial number on the block is to worn to read. The number by the PTO says 300R and under that it reads 967. Would you have any info on this tractor. Like year and make.
Thanks

Your Massey Harris 30 is by my serial number list a 1950.
It has a 162 Cont. L head engine uses gas for fuel and a narrow front end.
Your Number probably reads 30GR967 and one more number.

To be a 1946 your serial number would have to read 30GS 1001. It would have a wide front end and sit low standard style. Same engine as above.
