here is the cherry top i was spraying last nite while in the chat room i was asked to post some pics. the finish is two coats of zinnser seale coat which is a 2 pound cut of amber dewaxed shellac and three coats of a waterbase conversion varnish (satin) the conversion varnish is a very durable finish which i use on all my tops the cabinet below has the shellac and will recieve three coats of a waterbase acrylic varnish. the nice thing about waterbase is that there is no smell easy to clean up and will not yellow like the solvent base products

yes i made the cabinetsthere is a pair of them they will have 7 foot tall bookcases on them i needed to get the tops done so i can rub them out to a nice finish it takes at least a week for any finish to fully cure to rub them out this stuff dries to the touch in about 40 minutes and can be delivered and installed in a hour or two. the shellac adds a nice warm color two the cherry gives it a instant aged look
