i USED THE OIL THAT CAME WITH THE UNIT iT IS OIL FOR TROYBUILT PRODUCTS, 40:1 i BELIEVE, AND MIXES WITH 1 GAL OF GAS. tHE UNIT WAS RUNNING GOOD AND SUDDNLY LOCKED UP AND STOPPED. from THAT POINT ON i COULD NOT PULL THE CORD TO START, IT WAS LOCKED TIGhter THAN A JUG. i don't know what happened, something went wrong, and yes it acted just like running with no mixture at all. However I know I did. The unit came from lowes, do you suppose they could be selling products from troybuilt that are not number 1 products or is this just a freak.

First off, welcome to MTF!!!!!
As for the blower. I have never owned one, but have had many small 2stroke equipment. Normally the problem is how long they last. I would be pretty confident you just got a bad one. It happands once in a wile. Just miss built. I bet if you follow all the procedures in the manual, you will get long life out of the replacement.
