If you had your choice between a pair of 1928 running Rumelys a W 20-30, and an X 25-40 which would you take. The 25-40 there were less produced, but there are 271 known survirors left. The 20-30 there were more produced but less surviors left only 184. Being this said which would you rather have in your collection??? Both are in complete good original running order :trink39:
tough call hard to find a couple for sale running at the same palce since we're spending your money here buy em both

Well sence you dont NEED eather, I would go for what ever one you like best. The one there was less made, so finding parts could be tough. the other there are less around, but with somany scrapped, there may be stashes of old parts behind someones barn somewere. Tough call.

I would love to buy them both, but kinda hard to come up with the cash. I think in the long run a guy would be better with two of those and less of some of the more common stuff that everybody else has?!?! At any rate I will kick myself for either buying them both or not buying them both :00000060:

Tough call. Any feature on either one you might like better? Is one better suited for a restore if that is what you intend?
Or maybe you could hold out for this big boy.

I have always like the Rumleys. Maybe you and Wingnut could each buy one.

i'D GO FOR THE 20-30! I just like the smaller size of it - and it's easier to haul! Congrats on your next machine!

Does anyone know if those cleats on rear wheels are original? In all the Rumely books I looked at they used an angled iron bolted on at angle? did they ever use these cleats seen as both tractors have them and they came from different places? Anyone know of a website or a good reference book that you'd reccomend for Rumely info?
once again I am grateful for your information :not_worth

I will ask Louis this week he will know the answer!
most companies offered a wide variety of lug choices on their tractors mostly depends on what type of soil it was going to and what type of work it was bought for. i've got the manual for my hart-parr and theres 2 pages of different lugs to choose from
