I know it's been asked before, but is there any belt out there close enough to work on the tube frame pto's? I know they are 42.5" and I know where to get them online, but I need one now. The grass in my yard is so tall now that I can't find my kids when they go outside.

aguysmiley,
Have you checked with your local automotive parts store ? Even if they don`t have it , They should be able to get it over night .
I think If I were you , when you find one , I would get two , keep a spare. :1106:

One of my 1050's has two green gates belts on it but I can't make out any #'s they are kind of glazed and faded. Like DrB said try to get an autoparts to pick one up for you. I got a green gates for my sickle-mo from the autoparts. Stopped by on a sunday afternoon, they measured the old one and had a replacement before noon on monday.

I just can't believe that with all these tractors I have here, there isn't one good pto belt in the bunch. The only tractor that has a good one is in my friend's barn at the other end of the state. I will definately be bying spares.

There's a belt on one of the others here that might be in good enough shape to get a measurement from. I'll try that tomorrow.

The important thing with v-belts is the dimensions. The width of the top. The thickness of the belt. The angle of the sides. The old standards were A,B,C. These were 1/2", 5/8", and 3/4". The angles were all the same. So you just had to worry about the width and the length. But you would have o know the width. Which should be easy enough to figure out.

Well I ended up with a 42" belt on there. The pto is adjusted all the way up to get it to fit. This is causing some slight interference problems with the low speed drive pulley and the u-joint for the mower deck. Those two parts are real close now and rub every now and then when the deck is all the way up. Not really a big problem, just have to remember to turn off the pto before lifting the deck.
