I have two Hart-Parr 18-28, they are both Green. Ser# tag says it is an Oliver, but Radiator says Cockshutt?? Where some tagged differently? Anyone have some pics of these tractors.

This only a suggestion, but cockshutt was a canadian oliver. same basic tractor if memory serves correctly. You still have oliver 18-28, but made in canada. Sorry I can't find my photo book. thanks; sonny

First of all. Welcome to MTF!!!

Those are some fine tractors. Do they run?

BTW on this subject. Been reading up on the vintage tractor thing, and see a lot of the old old tractors are numberd like that.[ie 18-28, 18-32, etc] Being all the makers did it then, I assume they stand for something. [maybe HP, or pulling force or something??] Can anyone clue me in? Thanks.

Paul, The 18-28 10-20, 20-30, etc numbers are claims of drawbar/ belt horsepower as well as the model. I beleive the higher number is belt HP while the lower is drawbar HP.

welcome ryjba it could be that the oliver rad got wrecked and a cockshutt rad installed. cockshutt tractor should have cockshutt rad and cockshutt tag. but there was lots of mixing and matching to keep them running later on as they are the same tractor hope this answers your question

18-28 is 18 drawbar hp and 28 belt hp the nebraska tractor tests kept manufacturers fairly honest in their hp ratings before they came along some of the hp claims were a little out of line
