Hello,
Im new to this board, and looking for some help...
I purchased a 42" snowblade 2 years ago from either Home Depot or Lowes, not sure now since I shop both so much. I got the blade at a discount because it was spring time and the original box had been busted so they had it wrapped up in plastic, and they were just trying to get rid of it. At the time I had not purchased my mower but the sales guy told me it should be no problem fitting any of the mowers... Well that Summer I purchased a Cub Cadet LT 1024.
Well last year I didnt get the blade on and never even got it out of the box, but I decided to try to get it on and ready for this upcoming winter. I pulled it out and upwrapped it and of course the installation manual was missing.... I was like what do I do now, its been 2 years since I purchased it so I dont have any idea what brand it was or anything.... Theres nothing on it except its black and says 42" on the blade.... there are all kinds of parts, handle, bolts nuts and everything else.....
There was a supplement sheet in with it that has the Model number on it (190-620A)
Can anyone direct me in the direction to get a manual on how to install the blade.... I really am going to need it since I live on a 5 acre flag lot and my driveway is about a quarter of a mile :-<
Any help is very very much appreciated....
Thanks

CnC... :Welcome1:
I believe your blade is made by MTD. I haven't found a sight for a manual for it yet, but you should be able to get one....or a copy from someone. If you could post pics of everything you have, it might help others help you out.
Enjoy the forum.

I found some exploded views of a 190-620 at the link below when I entered 42" blade in the parts description box. Next click on the arrow next to AF-23114. Then click at the bottom on 42" Blade or 42" Snow Blade.

Not a user friendly website. Reminds me of John Deere's parts look up. Maybe the exploded views will help you see how it all goes together.

I took some pictures of the pieces today while out in the garage deep frying a couple turkeys.... getting ready to feast...
I will try and post them later this evening.
memmurphy, I will try that link later tonight as well.... I appreciate all the help!
Theres not a whole lot of parts with it, so I dont think it should be that hard to figure out... Thanks again for the quick responses...

Cat, yep, thats pretty identical to my snow blade. I don't have a scanner or I could scan the directions for ya . I could photo copy it and send it to ya in the mail if ya want ?, unless someone else has got a suggestion. If you want just e-mail me your address at jambocoo@yahoo.com, or send me a private message here and I'll be glad to send you the directions. Barring that I'll do my best to explain it to you.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyones help on this site...
Particularly the help from JIM_WV and memmurphy!!
Jim was gracious enough to take the time and photo copy his manual and mail it me with with additional photos of his blade attached to his mower. This was very helpful, also his communications via email was very much appreciated...Thanks again Jim.
The website that memmurphy posted was also very much appreciated. I was able to get a few blueprint drawings of different blades which also helped with the assembly process...
All in all this site and the people who frequent here are Grade "A". I Couldnt have done it without you!!
It took me about 3 hours to finally manage getting it mounted. My only problem now is my snow chains want to come off and the brackets that hold the blade to the tractor have already bent slightly from the last 2 days usage. I will look at work this week for scrap metal and see if I can fabricate some reinforced mounting brackets.
Getting the blade mounted couldn't have came at a better time... I live in SW Ohio and got hit with the mild 4"~ 6" of snow this past Friday, so I spent Friday evening and Saturday out doing a little snow plowing....
Thanks again to everyone!

Glad to hear you got it together Jason.
We only had about half that amount of snow here. Sorry to hear you had a couple more problems come up. But at least they should be fairly easy to resolve with some tweaking. Tightening up your chains will probably solve that one. Sometimes driving in a straight line for a distance will recenter them temporally (if their loose) until you get them adjusted right.

Jason, very pleased to hear you got it figured out ok, as Mem said, some tweaking here and there should have you set for winter duties :fing32:

Jason-a couple of things that might work w/ chains-if you are going to leave them on for awhile......Delate tire as much as u can , tighten chains as much as possible-reinflate w/ air...chains will be very tight...also, have to drive in snow/ice with chains on...hard surface tends to heat 'em up and they walk off......Also a couple of rubber bungee straps xx-cross the chains on outside will pull them tight...
maybe this will help-

Hello. I'm new to this board and found this thread while looking for an owner's manual for my MTD 42" snow blade. The tractor and blade were given to me as a gift, but minus the manual ( and a few parts I fear!). I was able to remove the cutting deck, but I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to mount the plow blade.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I just mounted a 42" Craftsmen snow/dirt blade on my dad's tractor the other day. It seems to be the same one as the MTD. We got 2" the other day and it worked great on my pebble driveway :fing32: . If anyone has any questions or needs the manual let me know. I found the instructions could have been better, but thanks to the pictures I got through it ok.

bft,
Does Crastman post their manuals online? Anything might help at this point. I've got the plow assembled, but I just can't figure out how it mounts to the tractor.
Thanks.
I don't know about online but I will check and see. I will try to post it online tomorrow since I am busy today.
I just took a look and found it online. Here at http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_SessionID=@@@@0853398079.1167847060@ @@@&BV_EngineID=cciiaddjkgldmijcefecemldffidfmm.0&pid=07124441000&vertical=LAWN&ihtoken=1 It is at the bottom of the comments box and says owners manual. Hopefully this works. :fing32:
