Can one of you JD guys give me a rough idea what a 755 model tractor would be worth> It also has a 1260 ( i think) model pull-behind finishing mower w/ it. It's in pretty good shape, regularely serviced-but with a lot of hours on it. Any help would be appreciated-
Tkxs. in advance :bannana:

glenn,
One of my all-time favorite tractors, sometimes I wish I still had it:

I checked machineryfinder.com and found the following:
1985 755 MFWD 1390 hrs. 52 loader 60" MMM $8500
1987 755 MFWD 1030 hrs. 52 loader 60" MMM Chains $9800
1987 755 MFWD 1400 hrs. $6199
MFWD makes the 755 more desirable and more $ than 2WD.
Cheers

glenn,
MFWD = Mechanical Front Wheel Drive (i.e. 4WD)
MMM = Mid Mount Mower
I think that covers my post, but if you are looking at tractors and are new at this, here are a few more you might want to know about:
FEL = Front End Loader
BH = Back Hoe (sometimes people refer to a Brush Hog by this)
BB = Box Blade (sometimes people refer to the ballast box by this)
RFM = Rear Finish Mower
PHD = Post Hold Digger
There are others, but these are the most common.

JDfan... Tkxs for info....shud have been obvious to me.... Yes, I used this tractor where I work for a couple of years, but they don't need it anymore. It has three- pt. on the back, and mid-p.t.o.. I'll have to examine it closely one day when I have time.
In your opinion, is there anything else I shud lookout for???
Tkxs. again for input :hatsoff:

glenn,
Quite obviously is the maintainance history: oil changes and hydro changes. Filters are also important. Having worked on the tractor, you should have an idea as to its use/abuse. You will also be aware that it is NOT an autobleed injection system, so running it out of diesel is not a good idea. When you said a lot of hours, what did you mean?
Cheers
