Well, it was a quite night.....
I was changing some tires on my van last night. Of corse it was pouring, so I was rushing to get done. After I had the wheel on, I was cleaning up all my stuff, bring everything back in the garage. Well the last thing was the floor jack. As I was pulling it in to the grage, I gave it a quick jerk to get it over the lip of the garage floor. Well, I guess I was standing somewere I normaly dont, becouse I have done this 100 times, with no problem, but this time the jack came down right on my foot!!!!!!
As far as I can tell it landed right on my small toe on my right foot. Not sure, but pretty shure she's snapped. This morning its a nice shade of bright perple, and twice as big as the other. NOT fun!!!! Almost impossable to walk, and can hardly wait to put a shoe on
I know theres nothing they can realy do, so not sure if I will go to the Dr or not. Guess it depends on how today goes. Like I NEED this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead3

OCH! Makes my foot hurt just thinking about it! You might want to go to the Doc - they should be able to show you how to wrap it to ease the pain ( and then there is those pain killers........ :) ). At any rate, good luck and keep the feet on the top side of things! :00000060:

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Thats the type of thing that could happen to any one of us so we can all relate.
I agree with Dachshund have the Doc check it out to make sure what you're going to do won't cause any long term problems.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

You'll want the Doc to look, you could have a lot more than a broken toe. Nerves, blood vessals, etc.

Sounds like a dr. visit would be a good investment on this one!! The floor jacks have a sharp back end, and could have done more damage than you think!! DON'T take chances, at least get it checked! thanks; sonny

Nothing worst then a broken toe. They must have gave you some good pain meds and they knocked you out :bonk: Hope it all comes out OK and your back to your old self in no time.

Well Went to the Dr, then out to get Xrays. Yupper she is bustlcated. Other then that, all is fine though. We were kinda afread becouse it was up near the foot bones, and being a crushing injery, you never know whats up in there. But all is OK. Its alined well, and its confined to the toe, so we just wait. Said manly keep it up, and iced. Have not decided if I am going to go to work or not, or being its a friday, and this is kinda a "Get out of jail free" pass, I might just stay home and take it easy.

Paul do your self a favor and get a pair of steel toed shoes if you don't already have them.
Whenever I work in my shop I always put on my old combat boots (which are steel toed) they are uncomfortable but at least I protect my toes. I learned years ago heavy objects do find my feet :omg: and dang if they don't hurt if they hit the toes. BTW I feel for you (I have done just about the same thing but it was a heavy shop jack) the only thing that saved my foot was the old combat boots.

Ya I know about the boots. Right now I am "Between boots" Tossed my last set, and have not got to the store yet. Guess I better now huh. :D
As for the jack. Oh ya, it was a heavey shop jack. Not one of them there, lightweight race jacks here. Probably weights about 80 lbs.

Take care of the toe and obey the doc!! I know you'd rather not but don't take ANY chances with that kind of injury! It will be extremely painful, but hang in there!! thanks; sonny

Well Im doing OK. Very sore, between that, and also from hobbling around, Im ussing mussles I have not used before. I sit a lot, then it feels fine, so I think all is well. Well first step, and I remember why I have been siting. :D
Doing OK though.
BTW, how long does a broken bone take to heal?

Paul, glad that it was just a busted toe instead of some joints or other bones in your foot. Hope all heals soon so you can get back at work in the shop. :fing32:

Don't them mussles get kinda slimey??
I prefer oysters because you can take them back to the store after the swelling goes down and no one will ever be the wiser that they had been on your foot!!

Speaking of cod.....saw a sign at a local bar the other day...
"We salute our veterans cod Fri."
Got me to thinking.....do you know what a "codpiece" covers.... :omg:
"In Middle English, "Cod" (or "Codd" in Old English, "Coddd" in Exceedingly Old English) meant "bag" or "scrotum",
Glad I gave up drinking because I don't think I wanna see that salutin'.
