That quick on the healing? When I had mine out 20 years ago I missed almost a full month of work and ended up with this nice scar on my side. Boy have the Doctors got this stuff down. :omg:

Randy, this was the first time in my 61 years to go to a hospital!!
It was a sharp pain in the lower abdomen that felt different than any other pains that i have had. At first i thought it was gas or food poison , but the longer it went on the more concerned i got. It was not "in" the stomach but rather around the stomach. I could not lay in any position without pain!
I also had a small hernia that they took care of as well. It was located around the navel where they were going to do the incision.

Hmmmmmmmm. I wonder what else they may have taken care of while they were in there? Ya better check out that everything functions a-ok. ROF
Take care and take it easy.

Glad you are doing better. I had mine out 35 years ago, and was in the hospital for 6 days, laid up for about a month, and still have a lovely 5" scar on the lower right side of my stomach. Sounds like technology has made it a LOT easier to heal up, but still be careful! Do what the doc says, and don't do what he says no to.

Ken,
Like some others I chose to rupture my appendix 35 or so years ago before it became the fashionable high-tech picnic it is today. No food/water but intraveinous for 8 days, stayed in 9 days and when I take off my shirt folks ask why I had a Ceasarian... Now that I think about it 9 days of getting washed by strange women wasn't that bad (one of them an old HS classmate who actually hadn't washed me before)...
GET WELL SOON! (And stay away from "Daytime TV", that's really why I'm the way I am today!):D

UPDATE
Went to the doctor on Wednesday.. He put me down for another 2 weeks!!
Forgot to mention, in my 1st post, that he also repaired a small hernia when he removed the addendix.
Since my job requires lifting of more than 50lbs, he felt best i take another 2 weeks..
No biggie, i am receiving 60% of my pay to play here! :bannana:

Glad to hear you're on the mend. Take the doc directions seriously too. had a good friend who had a small hernia fixed and didn't think carrying 2 five gallon buckets of water up the hill would hurt anything. He was wrong!! :omg:

Glad you came out OK, Ken. Sounds like you had a rough weekend. Amazing that they can take care of something like that and you'll only have a week before you're back o your feet. Take Care !!

"...carrying 2 five gallon buckets of water..." reminded me that about eight weeks after my surgery I dove into a pool and nearly drowned. My lower section cramped up and folded me in half when I hit the cool water... Just in case there's any swimming down there around February be forewarned. :D
