Figured I'd post a couple of pictures of things I've made in the woodshop. The first one is a plaque I made of a Ford 8N. The background is Cherry. The tractor is made from Walnut, Maple and Bloodwood. Number 2 is a 12" Lazy Suzan made from Alder, Poplar, and Bloodwood. Number 3 is a Jewelry Box made from Alder, Walnut, Bloodwood and Wenge. The last one is a German Shepard Jewelry Box made from Alder, Walnut, Bloodwood and Wenge. Everything I make is in it's natural colors - I don't use any stains or dyes. I draw the patterns as much as I can. Alot of them come from photos my wife takes.

Nice Job Galen! I've always been amazed at the fine work done with a scroll saw..inlays, marquetry and intarsia (sp) I also do a bit of woodworking, here is a bar I built for the local American Legion all out of Maple and Cherry.

Yeah - my wife wants me to build kitchen cabinets for her. I have a stockpile of Alder just waiting for someone else to do it! I can do most anything, but cabinets and me just don't get along! :hide:

Very impressive Galen...

Someday I have to find time to learn to do some more intricate work like that. Anything more than framing a building and I'm out of luck!

Nice job on the bars too Steve... More in your thread...

Those are great. I went to a monastery and they had some inlays hung on some of the walls. This brother had wood sent to him from all over the world. It is amazing the different colors and shades of natural wood. And his inlays were art. Just like yours. Keep up the good work Galen! :congrats:
