Hi,
I was wondering if any BX1500 (or other BX series for that matter, though 1500 is preferred) could post the following measurements for me
Front and rear tyre size
Distance from loader upright to the front axle
Loader pin Diameters
Loader arm lengths (upright to bend, bend to bucket)
Ram lenths (open and closed centre to centre)
I would greatly appreciate if anyone could post these measurements, it would help with my laoder no end. Thanks ion advance
Cheers

These measurements are off of a BX23 w/LA210-1 FEL
Front tire size - 18 x 8.50 - 8 Bar
Rear tire size - 26 x 12.00 - 12 Bar
Loader upright to front axle - approx 11"
Loader pin diameter - quick attach- approx 1"
Loader pin diameter - center ram to bucket - approx 1 & 1/4"
Loader pin diameter - loader arms to bucket - approx 3/4"
Loader pin diameter - loader lift arms - approx 3/4"
Loader arm length - upright to center of bend - approx 31 & 1/2"
Loader arm length - center of bend to bucket - approx 35 & 1/2"
Lift ram length closed - apprx 23"
Lift ram length open - approx
Breakout ram length closed - 16 & 1/2"
Breakout ram length open -
I'll have to mount the FEL to get the two ram's open length's. I'll be doing that later.
You thinking of makeing up an FEL?

Thanks mucho for that, I greatly appreciate it! Theres a beer waiting for you here :D
I've started making it, just needed that bit more information to decide on some dimensions. Its for a Wheelhorse slightly smaller than yours.
One other thing, if you are able, what is the distance between the front axle and the bucket pivot points?
Thanks very much for your help, it really will make my life much easier
Cheers :trink39:

Approx 30" from center of axle to center of bucket pivot pin.
Wheel Horse huh? Well you couldn't have picked a better platform for it :fing32: :D
I know quickway made an OEM loader for the long frame WheelHorse's.
I contacted Cadplans about their 1 arm FEL and they said it could be powered by an outboard pump driven off of the spare engine pulley.
I'm looking forward to seeing some progress pics.
Good luck

I'm making a 2 arm conventional style one. There isnt much work to see yet, I started on one design but scrapped it and started over.
I have almost totally redesigned the tractor, new front axle mount, new steering, new rear axle mounts, extended the wheelbase, all new operator area inc seat, cab, temp control and bodywork to come. Been at it for about 3 months, only another 6 months or so to go probably :(
The hyd pump will be driven off the elec clutch.
Will make a thread when there is some more noticable progress to the loader.
Thanks for the measurements. I'm planning for the uprights to be 24'' back from the front axle so the bucket is closer in to the front axle = less tippy operation. Can you see any reason why my plan might fall down?
Cheers, I think a nice loader would compliment your WH nicely :D btw, I really like what you have done getting all the attachemnts for it. Great job :fing32:

Your plan sounds good to me. In my surf'n around I remember seeing where someone had posted some specs on the Kwik Way loader on their WheelHorse. I'll post a link If'n I can remember where it is :bonk:
I'm definitely interested in seeing your WheelHorse and all your mods. Don't let the lack of progress on the FEL hold them pics back :D
I was thinking about an FEL for my 856, that or something along the lines of a Johnny Bucket. Thats part of the reason why I put that front Quick Attach mount on. I'm not ruleing that out now but after running the belly mower the other day, I've been thinking about trying to hunt down a set of gator blades for it now. :D

I had been looking at the PF plans for inspiration, bit all pics are good, you get a bit more information from each one about how to build it.
A hyd loader is, IMO, much more versatile that a JB. Much higher lift etc. Also you get hyds on your tractor, I like the sound of having everything powered, no more lifting :D Though ifn your trying to keep your WH origional hyd attachments might not be the thing ;)
The best thing about WH mowers is that they are indestructable, you can mow rocks all day long :D
OK, I made a post...... (http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=12907)

Here's a post for the kwickway loader for the Simplicities. Believe if you contact them they will send you the specs for other Mfg. as well.

Just got my 1st bx1500...mowed 3acres...graded some trails....i am a groundskeeper for a small hotel in california...thanks for all the info...it was true...the thing kicks some ass. perfect for maintenance....real quick funny story....my 1st day out i felt like it was lacking some torque...its been raining alot here so there was a lot of mud. got it stuck, had to dig it out a little...checked the tires later on and found that they didn't have air...or at least not very much air pressure...filled them up and it handles just like you all said...check the air pressure on the tires even if its coming just straight from the dealer. I was excited to get on it ....but it runs like a little champ.
Thanks guys.

I am considering buying a 2005 BX 1500 with front end loader
I get 2 foot or more snow drifts in the winter how do you guys think it will perform?
also how easy it to remove and install the front end loader and the deck?
Any complaints, does everyone like theirs?
Left over 2005 with front end loader and 56 inch deck for $9500.00 seem fair?

:Welcome1: That is a good price and it must be a 54" deck not a 56". the 54" is a heaveir mower than the 48" and on the 54 the anti scalp wheels can be turned to roll the deck out from under the tractor rather then dragging it out. The mower and loader are very easy to remove and install. It will perform great and is very quick to menuver but you need to remember that a bucket won't work like a plow. When its full you need to dump it out and start over as it will not roll the snow like a plow.

I have the 1500 and in snowy weather, it handles like a champ. I have used both the bucket and the blower and by far, the blower is the way to go. If you get drifts, it simply can't be beat.
Only complaint I have with my 1500 to date is that the damn hydro fluid is too expensive. Other than that, it is an awesome machine and will surprise you with what it can do.
