This photograph shows a red Doberman kissing an exhausted fireman. He had just saved the dog from a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, while he continued to fight the fire. She is pregnant. The firefighter was afraid of her at first, because he had never been around a Doberman. When the fire was finally extinguished, the fireman sat down to catch his breath and rest. A photographer from the Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, "The Observer," noticed the Doberman in the distance looking at the fireman. He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do. As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies, and kissed him, just when the photographer snapped this photograph.
Looks like the fireman was the dog's best friend. :fing32: Great story and picture. Thanks, John.

is what that Doberman gave that fireman...What a great and touching story!
That is a nice story! I really think that we should give animals more credit for how they act.
A trapper was walking through the Canadian woods when he heard a mewing behind him. He stopped and turned and saw a lynx right behind him. He froze for a short time then noticed that the lynx was showing no sign of agression at all. Then it mewed again and when he looked he noticed that it had a porcupine quill through its tongue. The lynx came up to him and opened wide so that the man could remove the quill. When the quill was out the lynx licked the trappers hand than walked off.
A hunter was sitting up against a tree waiting for his game to come by. All of a sudden this cottontail rabbit ran up and sat down between his feet. The hunter looked toward where the rabbit had run from and saw a fox looking at him and the rabbit. The rabbit sat there until the fox left, then the rabbit hopped off.
My brother had a beagle that stayed at our farm. One day mom was going for a walk and penny was just coming up from the creek with a bone in her mouth. Mom asked if Penny wanted to go for a walk with mom. Penny looked at mom while holding the bone. Mom said to Penny,"put the bone in that rock pile and pick it up when we come back". That is exactly what Penny did.
An animal psychologist was testing a dog. He had trained the dog to identify its toys. He would have the dog go into the next room and bring back a chew bone, a chew toy, or any of the objects that the dog knew. The dog, without fail, brought back what was asked for. One day the psychologist put a strange object in the pile, and asked the dog to go and get it. The dog did'nt know what the objects name was, but it knew that it was something different that the psychologist asked for. So the dog brought back the only thing in the pile that it didn't know.
I just heard on the radio that a pit bull jumped a fence and rescued a girl from a chow that was attacking her. There are tons of stories like this out there too!
