Hey All,
A few weeks ago there was a post about weekend projects and I was trying to get this done to contribute...but it ran into a three day thing so I didn't make it.
I wanted a trailer for my property. Strictly for here and not a loaner. I have a two axle tilting trailer for equipment and a tiny garden tractor trailer, but nothing in between. Anyway, my neighbor gave me some junk warehouse racking, 3' by 5' wire mesh display gondolas (from a pro golf shop), and the rest of the steel I have had laying around for a while.
Spindles and wheels (from an Allis Chalmers 5020 front axle)
1/4"x4"x35" square tube (from fence post gate)
Tongue and coupler (brother gave me, found in his shed)
Tongue dolly (adjustable link from the Allis)
Paint (leftover from other projects)
Total investment: Zero Dollars.
IT IS UGLY. This is the kind of item that if someone wanted to give you, you would want to reconsider. Or a thief would probably pass this one up. But it is perfect for me, and tested with 2 tons of loaded equipment (and logs from hurricane Rita).
I have pictures but it is too ugly... ROF !!
Regards, Mark
