Well another saterday ends with a new project on my hands. Seems no mater what I get done, more crop up.

I was out mowing yesterday afternoon, and the old 444 died. Started spitting and spuddering, and went dead. Thought it was my paiced together fuel pump agean, but got a ton of fuel. Got power to the coil, but no spark. I checked and cleaned the points, and they look fine also. Ran out of time after that, so shes still out in the back yard. Going to recheck the spark this morning, incase cooling down helpped. It has a new coil, but you never know. Well I have more, so I can try another. Well, another project!!

funny you mention that paul. ive been using my old wheel horse to tow a trailer while cleaning the property. it was running great thursday and today i went out and it wouldnt start. sure enough no spark! oh well at least i still have 3 backup tractors. ROF

Well I got it going. The coil went bad. it was only about 10 hours old, so who knows, maybe just defective.

Few things. I have the coil mounted at a little bit of an angle. Not streight up and down, is that bad with an oil filled coil? Also it has a full 12v going to it. Should it be less on the old Kolhers? the coils show they have an internal resester.

Only 3 back up tractors. You need more tractors. I got 6 at the moment. Plus a skid loader. LOL :trink40:
