The guy down the road stopped by and knew I was "into" Gravely's and just wanted rid of this unit. He already had it in the back of his truck and wanted to know if I wanted it. I said yes and told him to take it off right where he parked (to get it off before he changes his mind :biggringi ) It is compete with a 40" deck and he said he has a couple other things for it that he will drop off later....... :bannana: :trink39:

My plan is to restore it and take it to shows. The thing is complete, so that is one thing in my favor. I haven't had time to dig into it to see what condition the engine or trans is in........ :hide: I am probably going to do the mower deck first. I will completely strip it and then sandblast everything and my neighbor is a professional body man, and he will paint it for me. I will then proceed to tear the tractor down and it will be my winter project....

Darn right he's gonna keep it...I heard ya can get sent straight to he!! of you sell things like that for profit!!
Best way to get Gravely's is to ALWAYS carry a Gravely ball cap in the truck...and a big Gravely sign right behind the gun rack in the window.Had a fella sell me a '63 LI for $30 and a '47 L was given to me :bannana:
Great find :congrats:
Always treat the old guys nice...complement them on their roses...stay away from their daughters :tsk: ...they may have a Gravely in the barn they can't pull start anymore.....

LOL Ahhhhh pull starting an old L kinda a rite of passage.:D
You have to be one with the Gods. The L will decide if you are worthy to run it. If so, you will be geven the key to the secret of the "Starting of the Gravely" Once you have earned this "Key" you are a member for lifr.

Seems to me, the rear engine set-up would give the best traction AND light steering. Wonder why Gravely is the only one ( beside the old Alis)?

Great score!! :fing32:
does it run currently or is that going to be part of the winter rebuild? sounds like we are going to have another rebuild thread like Wingnuts on his TO35. I can't wait! all the fun of rebuiliding without any of the hassles.

Deere never made one because ya wanted to be able to jump off the back when something let loose... ROF
Most guys found out that they would then get caught in a disc or plow...so they paint them purdy and take them to "shows".....
