I'll give you one hint it is an attachment for a Gravely. Does anyone know what it is or what it does ? - Kris :)

I will guess it is used to bury wire underground.

I think you're right, Mark. The "bullet" to open the ground up...it's connecting arm is probably thin to cut through the ground without opening it up wide...the upper plate to keep the depth the same...the chain on the back of the "bullet" to connect to the cable through an attachment tool. Wa La!

I agree. Thats what it looks like to me. Now the strange thing, it that the way its aet up, you would walk backwords with the tractor. i would think it would be much easyer to walk foward.

Guys- Your Correct ! It is a Subpull ! For installing sprinkler pipe or pulling wire. Today's equvilent would be the Ditchwitch. Yes, you would walk backwards with the tractor or if you use it with a rider you would drive backwards. It's funny I brought it to last years' Gravely mow-in (show) and none of the Gravely experts new what it was. Good Job !! :congrats:

Cool! :fing32:

I was thinking it looked like what the sub for the local phone co. used to bury our wire in the backyard. I think he may have had a ditchwitch. I thought it looked similar to cutting head it had.

Neat attachment. Thanks for showing it to us Kris.

Paul- The mow-in this year is in Kinsers, near Philadephia (west of it) Lancaster area.Next year it is going to held at the Ariens factory in Brillion, WI. Dan Ariens invited the club. I don't know when they will be back to Rhinebeck,NY.

Randy- The subpull is not that old It is 1980's vintage. My other attachments that I showed in the other post are older than the subpull. They are 1960's vintage. - Kris :smilie_fl
