IRDEERE, I've had a similar experience but with cow manure. My neighbor wanted to know what I use since their plants were spindly and small and mine are huge and full of fruit each year.
I use a potting soil that I get from a local bark place. It's a mix of old bark, mushroom compost, and sandy loam. Reeks of manure but the plants explode with growth.
I also throw my used coffee grounds in around the plants. Attracts wads of earthworms and the plants like that as well.
