John Deere 425 owner

I recently purchased a John Deere 425, with a 48 inch mower deck and a front blade. It also has chains and a spare set of rear tires and wheels. I have not seen it in person, it is in route by freight from Kansas. I bought off of Craigslist. I took a chance buying it, paid $1000 including shipping. I have no idea how many hours is on it.

I am a retired Educator/Welder/Fabricator/Machinist. I have multiple hobbies, including the maintenance of about 5 acres. Although I have used Lawn Mowers for the past 30 years, I found this JD 425 at a price I could afford. I think it will do a much better job.

I plan on getting accessories for it, some of which I will fabricate myself.

Re: John Deere 425 owner

Fact is I am dumber than a box of rocks on this machine. I want a 3pt on it, but looking at the photos, I can't see what I need. I don't think it has a PTO, but I have no idea what to look for in the photo.

Re: John Deere 425 owner

I too hope I wasn't scammed. The payment was through Google Wallet, ($1000 $500 refundable insurance). In writing (email), Google said they would hold the money, seller would ship the JD, starting when I received the JD I had 5 days to accept or reject the JD. If I rejected the JD I would send it back. If the seller received it in the same condition it was sent, Google Wallet would refund my $1000 payment and $500 insurance. If I kept the JD, Google Wallet would forward payment to the seller.

I had no less than four emails and three phone conversations with Google Wallet. I had about five emails and one phone conversations with the seller. The seller says her recently died, sold her house and other stuff and moved it with her mom. Her story sounds plausible, and the way Google Wallet wrote the email, I think I'm okay. That said, I still do not know who the shipping company is and I still have no JD.

Re: John Deere 425 owner

I am still working on getting my money back. Amazon said they would refund to me the $500 the scammers spent with them. I'm still working on the rest.

It appears the scammers are still at it. I sure wish I could find someone to turn them into.

I sent them an email asking where the tractor was. This was thier response.

to me
Hello,
First of all I want to thank you for your interest in my 2013 John Deere 1025R. The tractor has been extremely well maintained with a full service history, it has only 43 hours on it! . The tractor has all of its original books, comes with Brand New 60D 7 Iron Mid Mount with Side Discharge and Mulching Kit, has the H120 loader with Quick-Park stands for easy attachment and removal, with Frontier BB5048L Box Blade with Adjustable and Replaceable Ripper Shanks. Everything works, slightly used in 100% working and looking conditions with a clear title free of liens. It has slightly used tires.

I bought it when I was serving in Edwards AFB, CA and now I'm serving in Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City. The tractor will be delivered from here, it is stored in a military compound.

I have dropped my price to $2,500 (purchase price) including delivery and handling to your address, since this is an urgent sale, it will be delivered free of charge through a military transportation service to a designated location of your choice, average delivery time is 2-3 business days, depending on destination. It has been reduced because I need to find a buyer before my upcoming deployment take place and I don't want to waste more time negotiating.

If you're interested to conclude this purchase in a timely manner please email me your: full name, shipping address and phone number, to open a case with eBay Motors. They will contact you to explain the entire procedure. The financial part will be managed by them, which means that you will have a 5 days inspection period before committing to buy the tractor. Using eBay Motors service we are both 100% covered during the steps of this transaction.

More pics on request.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Sgt. Kristin Lund
