Default mtd single speed transaxle

Hi,
I have a yardman rider with the 618-0387 single speed transaxle, does anyone know where I can get used parts for one of these? I need the bevel gear and the pinion gear. From the info I have researched usually the clutch collar would break. Of course MTD has no parts available unless you replace entire transaxle with the 918-0551A

I have a parts transaxle I'll sell the parts out of, gears all good.I have my manual if you get me part numbers i can check your part numbers vs mine. It should be the same insides. Single speed with the variable speed pulley mounted on the transaxle with the larger pulley right?

Ok I'll check the parts diagram. If you could post the model number of the whole tractor it would be easier to look up I could just load the manual

Mine is a 14 tooth bevel pinion, not a match.

model # is 13AX604G401, it shouldn't make a difference if I change both gears. At most it will give it a little different gear ratio.

Outside it's the same, just looked, My trans is good, it just has a bad sheeve bushing and a bad top housing. You could take your top housing, buy new sheeve bearings for $5 and just put your top on my trans if you wanted. Just need to figure out a price and shipping. PM me directly with you email address and I'll send you the manual that mine came out of so you can see the parts breakdown. It was out of a 2002 I think.

Is yours a 1999 or 2001? Partstree shows you with a 14 tooth bevel on the 2001, you should double check and count yours. It's going to be much cheaper to ship a pinion then an entire housing.

Herbert,

Try M_And_D parts (M-AND-D.COM). If you have part numbers (and I see you do), you can darn near any part ever made for MTD. Fast delivery too.

I have anew 12 tooth pinion gear and a ring gear. I got a ring gear in mine that has a sprocket on the back and 6 small holes not all the way thru on mine that I need which I believe is the 717-1422. The new one I have has 3 cogs on the back and 3 cogs on the front. Close to the same as mine but without the sprocket And partial holes. Bought this machine with bad rearend and those are the new parts the guy bought but no the same as mine.

If you still have the gears and want to sell them I would be more then willing to buy them. I mostly just need the ring gear and it has the sprocket on the backside where the chain goes down to the gears at the bottom. Also on the front side it has 6 half drilled holes for the forward and reverse. As long as theres a chain on it im sure its the right one. Call anytime at 218-838-5785 my name is Gary. Thanks
