Lauson carb leaks like crazy!

I was given a Troy Bilt Horse (I think it was made in 1973). The Lauson carb leaks out of the carb air inlet. It drips about 1 time per second. The more fuel in the tank the faster it drips.

The float (copper) is fine with no fuel or water in it.
I just replaced the needle and rubber seat attached to the float. With the bowl off I could easily shut off the fuel using the float.

The thing continues to drip.

Any ideas how to fix this problem?

I don't know what make of carb is on my Briggs powered horse, but I found the tab on the float was worn down enough the float was contacting the carb body which kept the needle from seating tight enough.

Float needs to be reset. It is set too high. or the seat is not set in all the way.
