Ok guys I did some cleaning on this old tb tiller 6hp tecumseh and found the serial to be 209119. Any help on identifying the model and year would be appreciated.
On the right side on the top of the transmission was stamped Serial number with an arrow pointing down to the small ledge below it. That was the only number there. Thanks for your help, I'll keep cleaning and looking. On the front of the transmission was stamped TD or O 1007
Hey thanks bontai joe. I just measured the width of the tines from outside to outside of the tines and it was 15inches if that makes any difference and there were 4 tines. thanks for the help.
I have a troy bilt serial number 00901498. I need help finding out if its a
Horse 1,2,3 or what i actually have so i can order parts.
thanks for any help
I've read all I can and still can't figure out model Number & year. Top of trans housing is TH1003. Left side of housing is 2109GT G. Below that is a B. Below that is 2995 Not tags or other documentation on this 'gifted' tiller. 20" spines & a Kohler Magnum 8 that will run.
Help please
On the right hand side of the top of trans cover is an arrow pointing to the serial # on the flat edge where the gasket sits. Its hard to see and might need cleaned off to see the #.
OK, Its definetly a horse. But its a newer on. Im guessing low to mid 90's. It looks like it was repainted and would have had a tag by the right wheel on trans housing or a tag new the base of the handle bars. Looks like it is missing.
First you have to figure out the year of your machine. Look on the engine for a serial # stamped on it. You can find the year for the engine. The tiller will be the same year normally. Troy bilt will want the model and serial #. which you don't have. They can tell you by the year what model # it was and you can get an owners manual from them.
You need one belt. MTD GW-9245. Get the MTD or Troy bilt belt, not a replacement belt made by someone else. Is your belt frayed or cracked ? If it looks ok and it is slipping you can adjust the stop on the lever that makes the tiller move.
Your machine only takes one belt. You can move the belt to the other grove to make it go faster or slower, depending on what groove you have it in. That's were you get 4 speeds.
