Re: MF 4850 Tiller

New is going to be expensive!

Try surplus. Type in the search box "right angle gear box surplus".

This one came up first.

Re: MF 4850 Tiller

Measure them up, as far as I know. If the case and shafts match and the gear ratio's right, it should work.

Re: MF 4850 Tiller

The shafts are 3/4 ", soI don't see anything there that would work?

It is 2:1 Ration...

Re: MF 4850 Tiller

Try some other sites and/or change the search wording.

Are you sure it's a 2:1 ratio? Seems that I recall mine is 1:1. There's a lot of reduction in the chain drives at the end of my tiller.

Re: MF 4850 Tiller

not sure exactly, but there is 14 teeth on one shaft and 28 on the other gear.
that would be what 2:1 is right?

Re: MF 4850 Tiller

Yup! I haven't even used mine in a looong time, so the old memory may be a little faded.
