Plastic Grease/Dust Caps?

Where do you get those plastic Grease/Dust caps that fit over the outer washers of spindle mount wheels? I have lost a couple from my dump trailer, The 14 year old ones on my lawn tractor are so hard it's difficult to get them back on after fixing a flat, and my Ford LGT 145 project tractor is missing both on the front.

Or am I the only one here anal enough to want them on the wheels?

Re: Plastic Grease/Dust Caps?

Bought mine on ebay. Got a good price on them too about a month ago.

No you are not anal, that keeps the bearings and washers clean and full of grease. They are definitely worth while and keep things from rusting.

Re: Plastic Grease/Dust Caps?

Check with NAPA if there's one around by you.
I was in there last week and happened to see them along with the metal caps for trailers on a display rack.

Re: Plastic Grease/Dust Caps?

I found some online that fit the front wheels of John Deere models 240, 245, 260, 265, 285, 318, 320, 330, 325, 332, 335, and 345.

Can any JD owners out there tell me what outside diameter washers are on these tractors?

Yeah, I know the yella ain't going to go to well with my blue and white Ford!

Re: Plastic Grease/Dust Caps?

Can't help with your question but here's a little FYI. They also make "rubber" caps to fit over grease fittings. Was given a doz by Ernie, my Yanmar dealer. Works nice. Need to find out if I can locate a source closer so I get another doz or so more to cover all the fittings on all my equipment.

ALWAYS remember to remove the spark plug wire from the plug before sticking your hand in the machine!!!! The fingers you save could be your own.

Re: Plastic Grease/Dust Caps?

Thanks BJ. I'm aware of CapPlugs, use to deal with them when I was a working man. Never saw anything from them like what I pictured. Right now I'm interested in a retailer since I no longer have connections with industrial suppliers.

Mickey,

This what you're looking for? A couple of six-packs should do ya.

Check out the review before you buy from this place though. If it's true they only ship them UPS, they might be a bit spendier than they look.

Looks like the little rubber boots that they put over the brake bleeder fittings on cars... (Just changed the brakes on my mom's car and my friends)
