Infection Blocked Warning

I use a MAC and have Avast security program installed. It has blocked an infection for the last day or so when I first come to the site. It happens before I log in. It says it is in the header of this site. Now it could be nothing or just an annoying hitchhiker program or stalker program and not necessarily a computer crashing virus or worm but it is a concern.

Has anybody else been having this happen?

Re: Infection Blocked Warning

It works and it was free and it never asks for money. I have an Apple so it is just a gravy program. It only happened on this site the last day or so. I have it blocked. I was giving a warning not seeking help. I have been into computers since 1980 so I am confident in my skills. and I only use the Avast because it lets me know what is happening. I am not worried about malware. I just want to know what sites I encounter it on and Avast keeps me informed what sites are having what issues.

I have an Aspire with Windows 7 and Kaspersky. I haven't received any notifications from Kaspersky about an infection, yet.

Re: Infection Blocked Warning

I investigated more and it happens when you are not signed in and there are pop up adds. One of them could have something with it. If I come back without signing out it doesn't happen. IMHO it isn't the actual site it is one of the ads.

Re: Infection Blocked Warning

Hi TractorBeam,

Thanks for the heads up. I concur, its likely one of the ads that the site owners have running for unregistered users. Its difficult to police them, so I appreciate the notice. I've reported this to the VerticalScopes (VS owns this site) Technical Team so hopefully they can ferret out the bad ad.

Re: Infection Blocked Warning

Not sure if this goes along with this issue, but it is very curious to me. This is the only site that does this. I come to the site and sign in with name and password. The screen will blink, some times sending me back to my computer screen as if, I am not on the internet. About 90% of the time it will just tell me it is an invalid name or password. So I sign in twice almost every day. One time that I know it will not work and the second time works. Yes, I am old, but I can type.

Re: Infection Blocked Warning

Fordtractors try letting the MTF page load completely before signing in. If I try before it loads it does that or just doesn't sign me in until I log in a second time.

Oh you think you can type. Well I can type 17 words a minute with two fingers if I can stare at the keyboard while typing.

I can't get this on a screen shot and it wouldn't copy so I typed the warning.

I am unable to replicate this with the information provided.
Please let us know what time this occurs again.

Is anyone coming across the issue as stated above?

Richard.

Was wondering if you close your eyes and use your pinky finger only, what can you type.
