Yep - I know they've been around forever but I've only ever had cheapies and reckoned they were "just as good". But my new dyson is amazing. I vacuum regularly - but the first time i used this last week the barrel had heaps of white cat hair in it.......we haven't had a cat for 6 years!!

As for vacuuming the mattress and pillows - well - that was just a truly gross experience!

Yes, they are very good, but very costly! I have a canister one and a cordless one. I really get a kick out of the cordless one. I can just pop it off the wall for quick, small clean ups without the cord and dragging a bunch of stuff. Then I just pop it back on the wall/charger and I'm done.

Wife whined for years that she wanted one. I finally relented and got one. I does a good job, but not $699 good, in my mind anyways. After we got this thing, she decided that she wanted hardwood in place of the carpet. Now, the only place we have carpet is in the bedrooms, so the old Dyson doesnt get the use it should.
BTW, this Chrsitmas I bought the wife one of those Robotic vacuum thingys to sweep the hardwood......I love my wife, its tough sometimes, but I really do.........:crybaby:

We have a Dyson and it's lasted for years and years. We've had just about every other brand of vacuum cleaner but they don't pick up well and just don't last. Another endorsement for Dyson.

We have a Dyson. just around 10 years, I think. we have two Corgis and they shed like a ****. We have to do maintenance every so often and it just keeps on trucking. Heck, we used it to vacuum the dogs. They love it when we do that, but HATE it any other time.
