Re: EBay MTF Lessons Learned

I couldn't agree more WNYTT it's the only recourse left if a deal goes south.

The one thing that bothers me about some sellers on E-bay is the one that dictate terms i.e. Give me a 100% rating or I won't give you one !, or the don't bid if you don't give me an excellent rating ! WTH ?

I always pay (paypal) within 2 hours of the closing so I should get a 100%, but the seller may drag their heels for 3 weeks and give tons of excuses or ignore your request for an update so why should they get the same rating ?

Another one is the no reserve listing that comes in way under what the seller was hoping to get then saying you have to pay his listing fees because he/she didn't price it accordingly.

In these examples I feel I shouldn't suffer the sellers stupidity yet that seems to be the way of world now on E-bay.

As Tinkerer said always use PayPal and let the Buyer Beware.

Re: EBay MTF Lessons Learned

Yeah, I had no idea what I was getting myself into with this last seller and the Kubota... Iím happy that I was able to repair the transmission issue myself with some elbow grease on the idler shaft and a fresh belt but it was far from described, he argued that he tested it, had he tried to drive it up a hill it would have had to slip, I even offered to have the local Stihl dealer / small engine shop write up a quote to bring it to where it was supposed to be based on his ad that would have proved without a doubt that he lied and scammed me.. I wish I would have slammed him with a negative feedback too, not tried to take the high road and avoid getting one as a retaliation because Im 100% sure, he would have taken that route based on his demeanor though the whole ordeal. Ive got over 510+ on my account, not one negative, Im 100% willing to work with someone that buys something and has problems, I would have NEVER gotten nasty with someone, it just proves that he knew he sold me a misrepresented machine. Iím still kicking myself for not using paypal and paying with cash! Lesson learned though, NEVER again, I donít care what the item is, I wonít go through this again!

Iíve been a member for many, many years too, never had this type of issue before either! I ended up leaving him a . as a + feedback, even after all of the back and forth crap with hopes that even though he 100% misrepresented the tractor, even according to Ebay, that he would, at the bare minimum leave me good feedback considering I paid, cash, 1 day after the auction closed at pickup before I realized the machine was NOT as described.. Nope, instead he says ď Are you kidding me, its not going to happenĒÖ. Buyers beware, drive the distance and look at what your buying, I took this losers word and feedback % at face value that it was good, turned out to be a complete pile or used up crapÖ.

Re: EBay MTF Lessons Learned

I just got took.
I bid on A hood for a 12hp Suburban tractor from mkstractorsandsupplies on E-bay
and 15 min. after I won the bid and paid with Paypal he sends me a note saying that he no longer had that one in stock. ??? How can you sell something you don't have?
He said he would send one off a different model. I said no way with out pictures first.
I got no reply and no hood. So I filed a dispute. Then I got a note from him saying he shipped it with UPS tracking. So I waited. When I got it it sure was not the one I bid on. It was rusty and had holes in it and parts was missing. So I continued my dispute. He said after I sent it back I could get my money back. I said no way that I should have to pay shipping back for something I did no bid on. So E-bay took control. They told me to return the item and I would get my money back.
So I still lost money sending the hood back and I still have not received anything.
I also bought a tank bracket for him and I have not received it.
Look at what I bid on and what I got.

Re: EBay MTF Lessons Learned

Thatís ridiculous, if he didnít have the part you bid on and won he should have reversed your payment and explained the situation to at least avoid a bad feedback point! Last night I was looking on ebay at tractors again, I almost did a buy it now on a JD with a cab that is within driving distance, till I read the guys feedback, itís the same guy that I bought the Kubota from! That would have been bad, I wouldnít give that guy another cent and its probably misrepresented too. I decided to email him about it, just stating that I almost clicked BIN till I realized who he was, he responds back that he turned me into Ebay for harassment and if I ever contact him again about anything that he will turn me in to the "authorities"... I hope Ebay and PayPal straighten out your mess, have you spoke to anyone on the phone? The lady that I worked with on my claim was great, sadly since I paid with cash there was nothing they could do for me.
