Your trick worked like a charm, but you knew it would. I got both clutches removed from the reels this morning. They soaked up some of the penetrating oil so I'll have to hit them with brake cleaner. Thank you for the tip.
Yea I figured you would keep the skids, but if you don't ask....
I do need to find a replacement bearing for the end of the reel. The cast iron housing on mine broke at the thin area when I was trying to remove it. I can even use the locked up one provided the bearing isn't rusted solid to the housing and the housing is good. The bearing itself should rotate within the cast housing, roll it 90 degrees to the housing, line up the bearing with the ear bolt holes and it slides right out. I also need the pc 27 washer that is used to center the pc.26 washer to the outside end of the reel. See picture below if anyone has an extra not doing any thing.
