Gravely C8 with Governor Fuel Line Routing Help

I need some guidance on the preferred method of routing the fuel lines on my 1974 C8. This has the rear facing carburetor with the side mount air filter. My model also has a governor. I have tried various configurations and there always seems to be some issue with each method (i.e., the fuel line resting on the governor linkages, the fuel lines bowing too far out, etc...). I do not have a sediment bowl; instead, mine just has a fuel line routed from the bottom of the tank to the carburetor's fuel inlet nipple.

Mine is similar to this one appearing on GTGravelyParts.com (see below). Can someone show me how the fuel lines should be routed?

Hey, I remembered. The hose goes over the governor, under the pipe that holds the air breather, and then over the intake manifold. I hope the pictures help. Whew, my gravely needs a bath!

You are using a petcock or shut of valve at the tank. If not you should. I use a common available 90 degree valve with a 1/8 NPT thread on one end and 1/4 nipple on the other. It also has a screen on the tank or threaded end. I Also use an inline filter Fram # G4166 / WIX # 33011 and flat spring clamps NAPA #705-1302. They are a lot cleaner than worm style clamps, and don't deform the fuel line like the latter. Be sure your 1/4" hose is made for fuel. Hose made for fuel injection is a little more costly than regular fuel hose, but will last longer and you only need 2 foot of it. For other members with a sediment bowl petcocks. I like the look of the old style sediment bowls, but have found they are a pain in the adze. If you really want to use your tractor, sell it to a collector and replace it with a modern style petcock. I'm going to try to replace a top end on a tractor this weekend. If I do I will post some photos

Thanks. I see that you and Greg in WV are using the same configuration; however, you have incorporated a novel modification that I like - the bracket attached to the gas tank strap bolt that supports the fuel line hose. After Greg in WV posted his pictures, I rerouted my lines to mimic his. I was concerned that in my particular configuration that the fuel line drooped too much and, in fact, came to rest on the governor. Depending on the stiffness of one's fuel lines, this drooping may or may not occur... though it did for me and my fresh and pliable fuel lines. Your solution prevents this from happening - I am off to get a bracket to lift and support this fuel line. Nice solution!!!
