Hi Folks!
My 1955 Ford 850 has the five speed transmission with the really odd shifter. Reverse is at the top of the arc to the left and third is to the right. My problem is the the shifter barely engages third before banging into the dash column. If I let the clutch out it pops out of gear. I tightened the cap nut some more, but no change. Any ideas?
I am also curious about the little oiler cap for the distributor. The book shows it being hinged and tipping up, but mine is like a flat disk with a rivet in the center. Didn't want to break anything, so didn't pry hard. Not moving.
