Chain broke that swings the backhoe back and forth. It appears a link stud has sheared off. I can temporarily replace it with a 1/2" Class 8 hardened bolt...BUT the cylinder that controls the chain has sucked back in too far and now the ends dont meet. When I try to swing it the other way the cylinder doesnt come out far enough to connect the two chain ends. How do I get the pressure off that cylinder to get it to come out further so I can reattach the chain ends together.
If I remember correctly, the two cylinders are connected in the back by a common "hydraulic" line. The line did not have hydraulic fluid running thru it though. Was only an air transfer line between the cylinders. If you disconnect one side of this line you should be able to move them independently. When you disconnect the line you may see some hydraulic fluid come out, this is from any leaking/worn packing on the cylinder piston.
GREAT! There is a line back there. I will try that today. Thanks for your reply! Jim
