So I acquired 2 diesel 3000's. One has a backhoe and a loader. I'm trying to figure out if the hydro pump is slow or something else is wrong. When I start it and try to move the loader it won't move for a while. I play with the valve under the seat that splits the 3 point and it seems to start working. I know the middle bucket cylinder needs to be repacked as it falls. Could it be the valve under the seat? I know my 3 point slowly falls but it is holding the weight of a backhoe. A lot going on here and I apologize for that

So the loader is being powered by the 3 point hydraulics? And it's taking power from a vale on top of the 3 point top cover down between your feet when you're sitting on the tractor? And playing with that valve is what gets the loader working? Sounds like that valve isn't working 100% as it should.

The 3 point hydraulic pump on that tractor only puts out about 4.7 gallons per minute (gpm) or so, so the loader is going to be slow even when everything is working properly.

Sounds like you've got the bucket cylinder figured out.

Also, you should always lower the 3 point arms whenever you don't need to have them up, especially when the tractor is parked and not running. Any heavy implement (and backhoes are some of the heaviest) put pressure on the seals in the system when the arms are raised. Having that pressure on the seals when the tractor isn't doing any work is not necessary and will reduce the life of the seals.
