Hello all,

I picked up this 1954 Ford Jubilee from Longview Texas. It does not run so I'm going to have my hands full getting it going. The problem is that I need to get it going asap if my cattle lease comes through as planned.
Plans are to get it running and then it can be a working restoration project. I almost bought a huge tractor (you know the saying with tractors "get more than you need") but I'm glad I skipped on that purchase. Dropping 20k+ on a new tractor of this same HP just seems ridiculous! I like the old stuff so much better. The serial number is darn near impossible to decipher. Well here she is.

Now that I have her I can read up on all the model specifics I'm looking for.
Glad to be here guys and gals!

Earlier models of the jubilee would have the serial number just behind your alternator and up near the head on the engine block. So if your engine or trans has been changed out you could have 2 sets of numbers or no number at all. The nose badge on your tractor is from a later model 601/801 series.
Here is a quick way to see if your tractor will run. Once you determine it runs than you can clean the tank/carb and rewire it if needed.

Good luck with your new tractor.

I'll hot wire it once I free up the carb. The linkages are gummed up good.

I went ahead and thought it was a jubilee based on the wheel hubs and the carb number.
Carb has brass tag stamped "1 54 TSX 428"

I've heard that the running boards can tell the model as well. Anybody want to take a stab at what it really is? I can post pictures or look into anything suggested. I was thinking 640 or 641 if not a Jubilee.
I'm needing to get a ton of parts on order there soon...
Besides someone deciding it needing to be painted blue its in fairly good shape.

The "01" series 1957 or '58 to 1962 were the first of the plastic hood emblems/medallions, but the nut in the hub center "says", 1954 and earlier.

As suggested in post #2 for the earlier, or here the later ---the serial number may help>>>http://www.tractordata.com/photos/F000/219/219-td3serial.jpg

Maybe it's got two or more identities!

Wow, love the patina of her! :thThumbsU

Looks like a great project and it's neat you're going with something vintage as well. I'm looking forward to following along and please don't hesitate to share photos! :tango_face_smile:

Just bought my "first" tractor...a Ford Jubilee! I have a friend that lives on property next door, and I've traded out maintenance on his 601 and MF to occasionally use his. Found a nice, rust free Jubilee for 1650 with a mower! Could not believe how many parts are available for a tractor of this vintage (and on Amazon). I'm planning on updating components...does anyone know of a sunshield cover for this tractor?

With those wheel hubs and that emblem on the nose, it's definitely got parts from more than one model. See if you can find the date codes on all of the major components (engine, transmission, hydraulic top cover, axle trumpets and center housing) and you should be able to figure out what year the majority of the tractor is from and then you can assume that the few from other years were replaced at some point.. But with those rear axle hubs I would think that the transmission and rear axle are from an NAA.

Oh, by the way, only the 1953 NAA was called a Golden Jubilee, so if it is a 1954 tractor then it is an NAA but not a Jubilee.
