Last night I put my MF10 back together. I solved my starting issues by swapping out the entire motor, using a block from that was previously on a christmas tree trimmer, with parts and the starterator from a '66 MF10. I also used the hood and lights from the '66. The unfortunate part is that I was not able to use the aluminum dash, as I couldn't get the steering wheel off. My plan is to use it to cut grass this year, then possibly a repaint and decal kit in the fall. I'm just glad to have it running for now! I still have to shorten the oil drain, as it sticks out to where the mower deck pedal travels through. I also have to replace the head light switch, as I broke the old one removing it, and I need to change the muffler. Now I've sold my old John Deere to make room for it in the garage. All together I have $100 total into the finished tractor, plus a spare for parts, and an extra motor. These tractors are way easier to work on than the cars!! I might have a new hobby!

Yup... That's why I'm going to repaint it all in the fall. I just want to make sure it all works for the season before I go and pretty it all up! I used the grey covers on the left side... If you stand on that side it doesn't look so bad!
First I have to say, nice Massey, it looks pretty good right now. You sure you haven't snuck in a paint job on some of those parts. Now, I just have to laugh, cause I had to put a Sears motor in my MF12, which is the same as your MF10, just larger motor. The color of my Sears motor? ORANGE
I haven't snuck any paint in yet! I built it out of two mf10s. The '68 had been painted by a previous owner, so thats the source of the shiny bits! From the '66, the unpainted parts are the hood, grille, and ring, the starterator, and the covers on the left side of the motor.
Eventually my plan is to restore it using as many of the '66 parts as possible. I still have all of the other parts.
