Re: Bolens ridemaster ID
I cannot make out the full model number. Is it 35AB01? If so, it is from 1948-49. Mine is a 35AB01 and has the Wisconsin AKS engine. Bolens changed to the Wisconsin AKN at serial number R 4000 during the 35AB02 model run, most likely in September 1950, although documentation is sketchy and contradictory.
I have read that there is no significant difference between the AKS and AKN engines, but I don't know that from personal experience.
Sonny's listing of Ridemaster engines is almost completely incorrect. Don't know where they got their information, but it does not match the early factory literature. It may be that their listing came from a later replacement engine list from Bolens.
