I picked this up yesterday for $700. The Onan has been replaced with a Kohler Command 20 HP engine. Whoever did it, didn't put much effort into it. The ignition switch will not crank the engine. It has to be jumped directly to the starter from the battery and the engine speed control lever is aftermarket and all goofed up. It also needs a battery. Everything else works though. It's sitting crooked on my trailer because for some reason the left rear tire came off of bead when I pulled it onto my trailer. That's priority one. Then I gotta get the ignition switch problem fixed. Main problem is: I have no where to put this beast as my garage and my lawn and garden storage is full.

It is a little rough but its not that bad and everything is functional. The deck is kinda rusty but I didn't buy it to cut grass. I'm going to put a 3 point hitch on it and I would like to find a loader for it. It may replace my John Deere 317. I'm not sure yet as I'm kinda attached to my 317. If I can keep both, I will though. The good thing is: The engine fired right up when I cranked it last night to take it off of the trailer. Its a lot oily which is somewhat concerning. I'm not sure how old the engine is but I'm guessing about 5 years old. I'll clean it up and see if I can locate the oil leak.

The guy I bought it from didn't even know that it had a 3 speed gear box. It was in 2nd when I got there and he said he never changed it. I need to locate the manufacturing number in daylight. I think that is gone though. I did find the operator's, repair and parts manual online.

Anybody know how to tell what year this thing is? I never did figure out how to tell exactly what year my Conquest is. So, I'm guessing it isn't possible. Manufacturer number is 1690230 001130.

I bought a battery for $122 and a three point hitch for $280. I'm now into it about $1100. I found out the problem with the tire. The inner lip has a huge chunk missing. I'm not sure how that happened but I don't think that it was like that when I bought it. If it was, I should've heard the hissing when I was looking at it. I'm finding the tires cost anywhere from $200 to $300 for a turf tire. Anybody have a cheaper suggestion?

Nice. We are gonna need some specs on that. I can't really see it that well but it looks like it has a repowered engine in it.

Added a tube to the tire and installed a three point hitch. Dragged the driveway a little last night. I gotta pick up some pins today to replace a bolt and nut on the chains that control the sway of the implement.

A little update:
I finally got a chance to knock out some problems with this tractor. Last weekend I replaced the light switch because the other one was not working. Also, last weekend: I traced the starting circuit for continuity, I discovered that the starting circuit didn't have continuity through the PTO switch. I purchased two originals from ebay and replaced both of them today. The starting circuit is now working. However, the ignition switch is finicking. So, I need to search out another one of those. After, I replace that, every electrical switch on the dash will have been replaced. The previous owners have not treated this tractor well. There is a lot of rust on the dash. One of the PTO switches is so rusted that the it is corroded and pitting very badly. I'm not sure why, but the rest of the tractor is rust free for the most part.

The other thing that I fixed was the throttle cable. Since the engine has been replaced, the original throttle cable was too short. So, one of the previous owners had rigged up a throttle cable on the side of the dash and ran it over the top of the gas tank between the tank and hood and abandoned the original lever. This throttle lever didn't operate very well at all so, I purchased a longer cable with the correct end stop on the cable. I routed it in the original location to the original throttle lever and threw away the rigged cable and lever. It works much better now.

After, I change out the ignition switch, everything will work perfect.

This is a pretty good tractor. It does well dragging out my driveway with a scrape blade. I have nowhere to store it though. My garage is full with a boat, kids bikes, kids toys, tools and my John Deere. My storage building is full with my lawn mowers and garden tools. So, I have it covered with a tarp in the backyard for in the meantime. I either need to build another shed or sell both of my tractors and buy one that has a loader and three point hitch on it.
