Wow!! That's a sweet looking machine and with a 4 cyl. I'll bet that really sounds sweet when it's running. Got any more pics or info on the engine?

Re: simplicity 4 cyl.

COOL install! And . I sure would like some close up pics of that motor.

If it's FREE, it's for ME!

ALWAYS remember to remove the spark plug wire from the plug before sticking your hand in the machine!!!! The fingers you save could be your own.

Thanks for the links. With compression at only 6:1 these should run on really crap fuel, sure no need for high octane.

Re: simplicity 4 cyl.

That is a very neat looking engine. Looking around they seem readily avail. How has this engine performed for you? I don't know anything about this company or their motors. Are they good? Reliable? Any info would be great to know. By the way great job putting that motor in your simplicity.

Re: simplicity 4 cyl.

Continental and Teledyne are one in the same I believe...we all know Continental made some very bullet proof engines ,way back to WW2!.

I saw some 10 HP Teledyne 2 cyl military surplus engines for sale while googling the other night under "surplus engines"...I think they were selling them for 650 bucks each--on a site called "Saturn Surplus Engines"..I'd love to have a few of those engines myself!..perfect to repower lawn tractors,I think they are underated, probably more like 16-20 hp in reality..

It looks right at home in that Simplicity!--I bet the tractor performs like never before with that engine in it...

Re: simplicity 4 cyl.

I saw this last year when you first posted it. I am really considering doing a project just like this for fun. How is that engine holding up for you? Did you get the seal replace ok?
