Submersible Pump Problems

Pump cycles with no water running. I have a pressure or maybe water leak between the house and pump. With the power off and the water cut off at the house the pressure instantly begins to drop. Well is 190 feet with a 220v pump. What can I check before having the pump pulled to check foot valve?

to check line in the well just take it loose and see if it is full of water if it is there is no problem in the pipes if it is not there is a hole some where and I would look at the adapter on the pump if it is bad I would try to find a brass one to replace it with. that is about the only problem i use to have

Definitely have a leak somewhere. I too would look in the well area. If the line to the pump is full no problem there, if not full then the problem is prob in the line to the pump. Might be a leak in the pipe or possibly a bad check valve. You might even try using a really bright/powerfull light to look down the well and have someone turn the power on to run the pump so you might see the problem. Good Luck.
