L118 help - stalling; clicking sound when starting
Hey all, any input would help. I have two questions. For my 2005 L118...
1. When I try to start my JD and turn the key, instead of the engine turning over, I get a clicking noise. I'll turn the key roughly 10x and then it'll finally start. I replaced both plugs, cleaned my battery terminals thoroughly, and the air filter/prefilter were replaced. Even changed out the fuel filter. Is something going bad? Maybe ignition? Coil? Any ideas?
2. Secondly, I have about 120 hours on it. I'll run it for about 20 minutes and it'll want to stall, like it's starving for fuel. I'll put on my choke and it'll help for about a minute, but then it'll finally die. If I try to start it immediately, it won't start. The first time it happened, I waited for about 15 minutes and it started right back up. However it's doing it more often now. One time, when it stalled, I got off the mower, put my ebrake on, flipped the seat, and took off the gas cap. I did this all within one minute of it stalling. Turned the key and it starts right up. I saw something about taking the gas cap off when starting so I just tried it. Worked, but I don't think I have a vent in my gas cap, do i? Anyways, what could be the problem here? I changed my fuel filter and blew in the line to the gas tank to check for clogs. Could it be the coil? Is that easy to change? Ignition? Anything else?
Thanks for your thoughts. Appreciated much.
