Re: using synthetic oil and premium (93octane) fuel....
Good to know about the ring seating aid of dino oil. When I do get the chance to buy a brand new deere, I'll make sure to use it.
My old sx95 is probably long past 100 hours by now.
I guess it will be ok to use synthetic now. 10w30 I guess.
I really just want to keep my deere running right as long as possible.
I have had all the belts replaced (3 all together including the deck belt) with genuine Deere belts, replaced the air filter with the spec dual element, and off course sharpened the blades. I'm not sure if I need to replace the spark plug or not, the engine runs great. Just thought that using synthetic oil might help preserve the engine. It's a kawasaki 12.5hp 460????? engine and I don't think they make it anymore. I have heard that it is a very good engine, so if I take care of it hopefully it will last.
Could you offer me some tips that will help maintain the life of my deere, like proper cutting style, driving etc.? Probably just common sense, but I thought somebody might know what I should avoid for my specific model...(the 87-89 SX95 38"cut).
